Accepting these terms
By accessing or using One Copy, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use One Copy for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it to these terms.
The service
One Copy lets devices with the same room code temporarily transfer text, images, and files. No account is required, and room content is end-to-end encrypted. Features, capacity, file-size limits, supported platforms, and retention periods may change as the product evolves.
Eligibility and room security
You must be able to enter these terms under applicable law. Minors should use the service only with permission from a parent or guardian. You are responsible for choosing a unique, hard-to-guess room code, protecting room links, and activity by anyone who enters with that code. Do not send sensitive content to untrusted devices or people.
Your content
You retain your rights in your content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license only to host, relay, and delete it in encrypted form as needed to operate the service. You confirm that you have the right to transfer submitted content and are responsible for its legality, accuracy, and backup.
Acceptable use
You must not use One Copy to:
- break the law or infringe another person's intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights;
- distribute malware or illegal, harmful, fraudulent, or exploitative material;
- harass others, send unsolicited material, or publicly expose credentials that provide room access;
- bypass security, probe unauthorized systems, disrupt the service, or impose an unreasonable load;
- impersonate anyone or misleadingly claim an affiliation with One Copy.
Temporary retention and limits
One Copy does not promise to preserve or recover content. A room currently holds up to 200 messages, inactive rooms are reclaimed after no more than about six hours, and encrypted files normally expire after 30 minutes. Confirming departure from the last device destroys room content immediately. Web and app upload limits may differ. Download promptly and keep independent backups of important material.
Availability and changes
We work to keep One Copy reliable, but the service may be interrupted, limited, or discontinued because of maintenance, network failures, security events, third-party services, or other causes. We may modify the service or restrict abuse and will provide notice of material changes when reasonably practical.
Intellectual property
Except for your content, the One Copy name, marks, interface, software, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer those rights to you. You may use the service for personal or internal business purposes while complying with these terms.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, freedom from errors, absolute security, or fitness for a particular purpose. End-to-end encryption cannot protect a compromised device or prevent someone with the room code from entering. Consumer guarantees and rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, One Copy and its maintainers are not liable for lost profit, data, goodwill, or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited remains subject to applicable law.
Suspension, termination, and applicable rules
We may restrict or terminate access if use violates these terms or threatens the service or others. You may stop using One Copy at any time. Disputes are governed by laws with proper jurisdiction and any non-waivable consumer protections where you live; these terms do not remove mandatory rights.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will post a new effective date on this page. Continued use of the updated service means that you accept the revised terms.
